Many times people will comment, "Your baskets are so beautiful.  Where do they come from and how are they made?"

Shalimar Basket's are intricately handwoven in Pakistan with wild reeds and date leaves.  Once dried, the date leaves are dyed in a simple clay pit.  The colored leaves are then wrapped over the wild reeds.  The weaver needs to keep in mind when to change color for making each design and figure.  This basketry art is centuries old and can take weeks to weave.
